The Flow Show’s mission is to present the Flow Arts in a dance theater setting.
Most opportunities for Flow Artists to do what they do for an audience is in the context of circus, where the acts are centered on “Tadah!” moments, or as go-go dancers accompanying bands and DJs, or as party diversions. In these contexts, the performances end up being trick-focused or background entertainment.
The dance theater setting gives the performers an opportunity to stretch what they do in new, artistically expressive directions for an audience that is there specifically to see them “Flow”. It is the hope of the show to model how Flow Arts performance can be shaped, and how the Flow Arts can be featured in the context of dance and theater.
Fund the Flow Arts hosted a Flow Show logo competition in 2012. The winning entry was by Francois Erb of LOOOOP performance troupe in Germany, who also happen to be innovators of partner poi. This logo is the official logo of the Flow Show.
