Storytelling Specialist Job Posting

Fund the Flow Arts seeks a Storytelling Specialist, to research the work of the recipients of awards from our signature grant programs the Seed Fund and the Community Development Investments, as well as the benefits of practicing the Flow Arts. The project will also include the creation of assets to share those findings.

Scope of Work

  • Contact the 59 recipients of FFA grants from the years 2024, 2025, and 2026 to gather updates, outcomes, and impact stories including observable benefits to individual physical, emotional or mental health and/or community cohesion;
  • Document and report on grant recipient progress, milestones and community impact;
  • Research and report on stories and community developments relevant to the Fund’s mission;
  • Compile and organize program metrics, testimonials, and media assets for reporting purposes;
  • Shape the gathered information into cohesive stories using both data points and narrative – particularly in the form of reports, articles or essays. Reels or other social media formats would be a plus;
  • Create the assets with the goal of amplifying the Fund’s public-facing presence for the benefit of the Flow Arts community as a whole, the general public, and potential donors.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a capable researcher with broad knowledge of the Flow Arts community including its various subsets e.g., poi spinners, staff spinners, hoopers, etc.;
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Work collaboratively when required yet also be able to self-direct and manage their own schedule;
  • Be proficient with organizing data and collected media assets;
  • Be proficient with using Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets;
  • Able to meet deadlines;
  • Proficiency with creating social media content, particularly reels and carousels, a plus but not required;
  • Proficiency with graphic design and creating charts and reports a plus but not required.


Timeline and Compensation:

  • The project will be conducted from August 1 through November 30, 2026;
  • Pay rate is $25-$30/hour depending on experience with a cap of 120 hours for the identified scope of work. Both the scope of work, and the number of total hours, may be expanded upon discussion with and approval by the Fund the Flow Arts Board;
  • Payment will be made in monthly installments based on reported hours and the receipt of deliverables and reporting to the Fund the Flow Arts Board.
